Founder / Family Nurse PractitionerAccepting New Patients
Tavie Peters is an Advanced Practice Family Nurse Practitioner who specializes in Functional and Integrative Health. She spent 11 years as a registered nurse mostly in critical care settings. She received Master of Science in Nursing in 2016 and worked in chronic/interventional pain management until 2018 when she was lead to Integrative Medicine by her own health struggles with undiagnosed mold toxicity and the grace of God. She discovered a passion for balancing hormones and guiding patients with complex chronic illnesses toward answers and lasting solutions for their symptoms.
She trained with the Institute for Functional Medicine, the School for Applied Functional Medicine, and the Functional Medicine Academy. In addition, she has completed multiple advanced courses in hormone-replacement therapy and completed specialized Lyme-disease training through ILADS and Dr. Richard Horowitz.
Tavie is an active member of Texas Nurse Practitioners (TNP), International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS), The American Academy of Envionmental Medicine (AAEM), The American Society of Ketamine Physicians, Psychotherapists, and Practitioners (ASKP3), and is a strong supporter of The Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC).
She believes that patients should have a choice in their healthcare decisions and a partnership with their provider to make the decisions that are best for them. Tavie gets joy from helping people regain the lives that they love. She resides in Johnson City, Texas with her family and a menagerie of animals. She finds solace with God, family, and her horses.
White Horse Holistic Health’s mission is to serve Christ by helping others. Having battled chronic illness and various trials herself, she knows 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 to be true.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

I have always felt like traditional health care was missing something, and that most problems were preventable. I was tired of being stuck in the “sick care, band aid, pill for an ill '' model. I, personally was tired of going to numerous different doctors and leaving defeated without answers or solutions. There had to be a better way! Working in pain management was humbling as very few patients ever got better. Most were stuck in a cycle of pain and despair with no clear way out. Opiates and injections helped very little and only temporarily. No one talked about food choices, meditation or mindset. We did not look into nutritional supplements or toxic burdens as a potential source for their pain. It was mostly a no-win situation with some small victories for a few patients. It was not until I started seeing my patients from integrative medicine model that I learned that toxic exposure to things in everyday life can cause a chain reaction of chronic pain, inflammation, hormone disruption, insomnia, depression, anxiety and other strange symptoms.
I started to piece together my own symptoms, (extreme fatigue, chronic itching and skin pain, sensitivity to touch, joint and muscle pain, brain fog, trouble speaking, dehydration, stomach aches, mood swings, anxiety, hair loss, weight gain) to very low functioning adrenal glands, mismanaged thyroid, histamine intolerance, candida overgrowth, and mycotoxicity from exposure to various molds throughout my life, and significant hidden mold in our home! I had spent 15 years searching for answers to some of my symptoms and was given no answers because my labs were “normal.”
My healing journey began in 2018 using the tools that I was giving to my patients. My house was torn down to the studs, and I slept in a camper for months but slowly, my pain lessened and my symptoms started to improve. There will always be ongoing work to do but I feel better now in my forties than I ever have in my life!
I have learned self love, patience, the power of positivity and to trust God’s plan and the process. These things are critical and mandatory for healing. I firmly believe that God led me to do this type of work and allowed me to get sick to experience a failed system from the side of a patient so that I can be of better service to you.
Functional Medicine is not for the faint of heart for the practitioner or the patient. It is life changing work. Very rewarding work that makes sense! It is not taught in traditional programs and most all Functional Medicine Practitioners work within this framework because either they themselves or a family member was once sick with no answers from conventional health care.
I fully believe that most disease is preventable and health is maintainable, despite what our current culture claims. Conventional medicine is useful and much needed for sick care. If I have a ruptured appendix, broken bone, or a heart blockage, I will be first in line at the hospital. My goal is to find the underlying cause of dysfunction and fix it so that you can get back to living and thriving in your life! I consider it an honor and privilege to serve you.
With humble thanks,
Tavie Peters

Now Accepting Patients – Starting July 28, 2025
Stephanie Sanders is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a passion for Integrative Medicine and a deep commitment to helping patients achieve whole-body wellness. She empowers her patients through education, compassion, and collaborative care—believing that true healing happens when patients are informed, supported, and engaged in their own journey.
Stephanie’s interest in integrative health began over 15 years ago through her personal health transformation. She immersed herself in learning about food systems, clean nutrition, and the role of lifestyle in preventing chronic disease. She brings this passion into her clinical work by addressing not only symptoms, but root causes, and by guiding patients toward sustainable healing.
Her background includes extensive experience in perioperative and pediatric nursing, as well as six years in wound care and hyperbaric medicine. This work solidified her understanding of the body's remarkable ability to heal, especially when supported with proper nutrition, mindset, and personalized care. Most recently, she has practiced in urgent care, where she continued to incorporate integrative principles even within fast-paced environments.
Stephanie has lived in the Spring Branch/Bulverde area since 2005 and is excited to serve her local community through her role at White Horse Holistic Health. She enjoys a vibrant lifestyle that includes yardwork, paddleboarding, exercise, and meditation.

What is in a name?
I chose the name White Horse Holistic Health partially out of my deep love of the equine, but more so because the white horse, unlike any other animal, represents rarity, purity, strength, courage, heroism, freedom, and triumph over evil. In all of mythology and Christianity, the white horse was the only creature qualified to carry a god figure. Kings rode their white horses to victory in battle. White Horse Holistic Health is your trusty steed to deliver you to better health.
